I am Dhanwantari Prakash Tripathi working at Biju Patnaik Central Library, National Institute of Technology Rourkela in the capacity of Assistant Librarian.
I am basically from Ghazipur District in Uttar Pradesh, India. I have completed my study – Graduation & Post Graduation in Economics (Hons.) and Library & Information Science from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – one of the prestigious universities in India. I also qualified UGC-NET in June 2008. Since, I have immense interest in Computer, ICT and Open Source Technology, I managed to complete 2 years Computer Course namely “Honors Diploma in Information & System Management” from APTECH Ltd. This course enabled me to become technically sound so as to use ICT applications easily.
I strongly believe in sharing the knowledge with others professionals and gaining the experience practically by educating the people in the form of training/seminar/workshop/conferences.
Teaching and Learning has been my passion and I have been able to conduct the training/workshop programme throughout India and other countries like Bhutan and Nepal. Library Automation, Digitization, Web Designing, Data Migration, Classification & Cataloguing and Open Source Technology have been my interesting areas. I have successfully conducted the training/workshop programmes on Library Automation Software – koha, Digital Library Software – DSpace and Content Management System – Joomla and Data Migration.
My aim is to enable the libraries and library professionals technically sound in these four areas where libraries are struggling due to less technical staff and knowledge.
I have also started the national movement to ‘Empower the Library Professionals to Empower Society’ with the aim to extend maximum help to Library Professionals in the field of Library Automation, Digitization and Content Management.
